As season three of Greys Anatomy begins with Izzy still in her prom dress and inconsolable following the loss of Denny. At the behest of Christina, Meredith attempts to comfort Izzy as Miranda prepares to hand over Dennys body to the employees from the funeral home. As Dennys body is being wheeled away, Miranda informs the folks from the funeral home that there will be no funeral due to a request from Dennys family. Meanwhile, Meredith confesses to Christina that she ditched the prom in order to sleep with Derek, and Adele gives Richard an ultimatum: either retire or risk spending the rest of his golden years alone.
