Truffaults The Man Who Loved Women, while appreciated by audiences, was not all that well received by critics. From the vantage point of his grave, the late Bertrand Morane (Charles Denner) reflects upon his life and loves. In life, Morane simply couldnt keep his mind off women: one glance at a well-turned ankle and he was lost. Astonishingly, women felt the same way about him. He never considered his promiscuousness a shortcoming, nor did the women in his life hold it against him when his eyes wandered. Moranes obsession with women even resulted in his death. Man Who Loved Women was remade in 1983 by Blake Edwards, with Burt Reynolds as the irresistible hero. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
