How do I rent movies?

  1. Sign up to create your MovieCrazy user account with no commitment.
  2. Browse our extensive movie collection and add movies to your rental queue or 'wish list' by clicking on the 'Rent it' button. The first time you do so, you will be prompted to choose a rental plan and become a MovieCrazy subscriber.
  3. Wait for movies in the mail: it typically takes 1 to 3 days for your selections to arrive in your mailbox.
  4. There are no late fees or due dates, so take as long as you'd like to watch your movies.
  5. Return a movie and get another DVD from your list. Shipping is free both ways.
 
How do I return movies?

Place viewed DVDs in provided pre-paid envelopes and drop them in the mail. The next available movies from your wish list will be on their way to you!

Will I always get the movies at the top of my wish list?

Usually you will. However, some movies (especially those with limited supply) are temporarily unavailable while another customer is renting it. If your top choice isn't available, we'll send you something from your wish list and try to get your top choice sent as soon as possible. You should try to keep a large number of movies in your wish list for this reason.
What happens if my movie is damaged or lost?

If you get a bad DVD or accidentally break a DVD, just return it and let us know. You can re-add that movie to your wish list, and a different copy will be re-sent. If your movie is lost in the mail, let us know and we'll make sure things get back on track.

What are the technical requirements?

You just need a recent browser (IE 6+, Firefox 1.02+, Safari 1.2+) with javascript enabled. We support recent versions of Windows, Mac, and Linux. A DSL/cable modem is preferable, but not necessary. You'll also need a DVD player attached to your TV or computer.

What so you do with any personal/financial data you collect?

We do not rent or sell any personally-identifiable data. For your protection, we use a secure third-party payment service, and we do not keep your credit card info on file. We do not install any spyware.

How much does it cost?

Just $15.99 per month for the 3-at-a-time plan . Save more when you sign up for a longer term plan with our partners (such as Kepler's).

How do I unsubscribe?

You can cancel your membership at any time, and there are no cancellation fees.

Why should I tell my friends about you?

MovieCrazy helps local video stores by making their movies available to a national audience. This gives you access to a broad and comprehensive selection, since most chain or online rental companies only stock the basics. You get great service and help your local video store, since movies are delivered from a nearby outlet if possible.
