This film is the first feature-length animation to follow the popular Japanese television cartoon, Lupin III. Arsene Lupin III descends from a family line of world-renowned thieves. In this installment, Lupin is surprised to hear of his own execution by hanging. The adventure begins when a mysterious immortal old man tries to convince Lupin that the real Lupin is dead and that he is merely a clone. The Lupin III character has an enormous following in the U.S. as well as Japan and has been featured in comic books, television cartoons, live-action films, and video games since the late 1960s. ~ Jonathan E.
