Movie Summary
One of the most exciting and innovative musicians in rock history, Jimi Hendrix rang in the year 1970 with four shows at New Yorks Filmore East, in which he performed with his new group The Band of Gypsies, who expanded Jimis hard-rock style into a sound that embraced a wider range of R&B and Funk influences. This video collects rare footage from the two night stand at Filmore East, as well as interviews with Band Of Gypsies members Billy Cox and Buddy Miles, Jimi Hendrix Experience bandmates Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding, and recording engineer Eddie Kramer, who worked with Hendrix on many of his original recordings.
