Fans of The Osbournes were well aware of some significant changes since the end of the first season, and the anticipation leading into season two of the hit MTV series was nearly searing hot by its debut in November 2002. It was no secret that having their lives displayed for the masses had taken its toll on the exhausted family, and for a while it looked as if the series might have run its course. With the July 2002 announcement that Sharon had been diagnosed with colon cancer, all signs pointed to the family foregoing their eality sitcom existence for a more private and personal period. This coupled with a visibly shaken Ozzy announcing that no one would be interested in seeing the family through such dark times made it appear as if the decision had been all but made to pull the plug on The Osbournes.
