Movie Summary
Newly discharged from a psychiatric hospital, 19-year-old Neil Lawrence (D.J. Qualls), the son of the governor of New York, enrolls in an ivy-covered prep school to straighten out his life. Things look promising when he meets the lovely 17-year-old T.J. (Rachel Blanchard), but she has hidden problems of her own. When Neil, a closet J.D. Salinger fanatic, is assigned to write a paper about whatever happened to Holden Caulfield, the protagonist of Salingers coming-of-age classic The Catcher in the Rye, he takes the project too far and sets out on an unauthorized, hazard-filled journey of discovery in New York City -- with T.J. along for the ride. ~ Buzz McClain, All Movie Guide
