A bumbling night watchman at New Yorks Museum of Natural History inadvertently unleashes havoc when he triggers a dormant curse that fully animates the historical displays in a wild fantasy comedy directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Mickey Rooney, and Dick Van Dyke. Larry Daley (Stiller) is a kind-hearted dreamer who always knew that he was destined for greatness, he just never know how it would all play out. Though his job as a lowly graveyard-shift security guard at the Museum of Natural History hardly seemed like the start of anything big, things soon begin to take a turn for the strange when, under the ancient spell of the pharaohs tablet, Attila the Hun begins carving a swath of destruction through the marbled hallways and the once-still gladiators and Neanderthals on display suddenly spring to life. Now faced with the daunting task of restoring stillness to the increasingly agitated displays, Larry Daley must turn to a wax replica of former president Teddy Roosevelt (Williams) to find out how to reverse the curse before the dreaded Tyrannosaurus Rex gives terrified modern-day museum goers a true taste of prehistoric fear. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
